Gabriel walked into the red lighted main hall of the Manala church, his footsteps echoing throughout the otherwise quiet room. "This place smells of filth..." Voice snarled in the back of Gabriel's mind as he passed a couple priests talking amongst themselves. He could feel a strong sensation at the base of his neck, slowly going up as he walked which felt unnatural to him. It felt, familiar to him and yet so alien that he couldn't comprehend what it was that he was feeling. "The tome is very near... You can feel it, can't you?" Voice whispered excitedly. "I feel something..." Gabriel admitted as he entered a broom closet unseen.
He popped open his breif case and pulled out a small remote controlled car, setting it on the floor before taking out a controller next. Gabriel had developed a few hobbies in his later years, one was using chips and such to make special RC cars. For this occasion, Gabriel thought it would be perfect to get the book unseen as he popped the closet door open alittle and drove the little car out into the hall. Using a small T.V screen inside the breifcase, he could see what the car saw and navigated it down the hall toward a pair of guards standing by a door.
Not seeing any other guards anywhere else, Gabriel deduced it was behind that door and drove the car up to the guards who fixed the little car with arched eyebrows. One knelt down to have a better look at it, picking it up and showing it to his comrade while chuckleling. Gabriel allowed himself a smirk of satisfaction as he pressed a button on the controller, causing a loud hiss as smoke came rushing out of two little canisters attatched to the hood of the car which engulfed both guards with knock out gas. "That was simple..." Voice remarked rather dissappointed.
"Indeed... Now we go collect our prize." Gabriel replied closing the case and heading down the hall toward the room he felt the book was stored in. As he reached the door, he felt that strong sensation again rattle his spine. It was definately coming from here he thought and opened the door, shutting it behind him as he entered the dimly lit room. There appeared to be quite a few objects in here that were either doomed for destruction, or simply here to rot for eternity.
He was looking for something specific though and browsed around for a moment until he found a large, thick black tome with some kind of archaic symbol on the front with reddish pages. "There it is! Isn't it a wonder to behold?" Voice giggled excitedly as Gabriel picked it up and dusted it off. How old this thing was he didn't know as he was about to open it when he suddenly heard voices on the otherside of the door. "Shit..." he silently swore as he looked for a way to escape. "You can take these pathetic cultists... You have the power at your finger tips." Voice cooed trying to seduce him into killing some people again.
He saw a small window in the back of the room that looked big enough for him to squeeze through. Hearing the doorknob rattle, he pushed a heavy crate infront of the door to hold them off as he scrambled up to the window. Popping his suit case open again, he punched in a few buttons and closed it again before he ran over to the window and broke the glass so he could crawl through it.
Tucking the book into his coat, Gabriel ran faster then he had in years and ducked into a nearby alleyway just as a loud, deafening explosion erupted, and lit the night sky up. That should buy him some time he thought dissappearing into the night, trying to find a quiet place to lay low.
