Social Skills 101

[Aubrey 16]

Aubrey was a little taken aback when Bambi yelled at her. She blinked rather rapidly, before cracking up. It was comical to see the seemingly timid woman have a bit of an outburst. Aubrey wiped non-existent tears of laughter from her eyes, being an android, she didn't cry, so she only did that for effect.

"Extreme bouts of clumsiness? Well that much has been made pretty clear to me." She said, picking up the shoes that she was going to show Bambi before she singlehandedly nearly de-shelved a portion of the store. They were black, simple pumps, the toe was a bit pointy, so she'd have to be careful about what she wore them with or she'd come off looking too fierce.

"Well, theres these." She said, holding the box out to her. "I'm sure I can probably teach you to walk in heels, besides it isn't really all that difficult to keep your balance." Actually, Aubrey wasn't sure, but confidence was key.

She looked around a bit more, and found a pair of lacy looking white flats. "Oh, these are just gorgeous!" She thrusted that box into Bambi's arms as well.

Bambi made a face at the shoes. They looked like they could be used as a weapon! She shook her head rapidly. Her outburst had surprised her too, but she was glad Aubrey had simply laughed at it.

She stood, gazing around slowly, before her eyes spotted another pair of shoes. She pointed slowly, unsure of what Aubrey would think. "Those look nice, don't they...?" She questioned.

The shoes in question were flats, shades of brown with a bow at the side of them. The inside had animal print on them, which seemed a bit out there for Bambi, but they wouldn't be visible while she was wearing them.

Aubrey tilted her head when Bambi made a face at the pumps. "Whats wrong with them?" She asked, picking one up out of the box. They were suede, and felt smooth and soft to the touch.

She was still inspecting the pumps, eager to find something wrong with them. Aubrey couldn't see anything, in fact, she had a pair just like them in her closet, she thought they were impeccable. When Bambi addressed her she turned.

She pulled the box off the shelf for Bambi, as too prevent her from having another...mishap. She peered into the box, and fondled the bow on the side a little, grinning. "They're fabulous!" she exclaimed, holding the box out to her. "Try them on!"

"Really?!" Bambi was surprised Aubrey agreed. She was beginning to see the appeal in shopping together with someone! Sitting on one of the seats, she pulled one of her boots off, pulling one of the flats on instead.

She stood, twisting her ankle around to examine the shoe before taking a step with the foot. The flats were very comfortable, and the bumps on the button of the shoes gave good support. She was positive they'd be just as great to run in as her boots. They also matched her hair.

"What do you think? May I get them?" She felt silly once more as the words were out, asking permission to buy a pair of shoes. She checked the price on the box. She was surprised to see they weren't too expensive.

Aubrey clapped her hands together excitedly. "Of course you can!" She squealed, admiring the shoes. "I wish I had a camera. This is definitely a Kodak moment."

She loved having someone else to shop with. A second opinion was always nice...even if that second opinion wore blue boots. But she was picking out cute shoes now!

"Here, try these on too." She said, handing Bambi a cute sandal. The heel wasn't low but it wasn't too high either, and it wasn't too thin, so they wouldn't be that difficult to walk in. They were open toes, and had a few thin straps coming up the foot. Aubrey thought they were adorable. "Even if its just for fun."

Bambi smiled, nodding as she sat back down. She carefully pulled the shoe back off, delicately placing it in the box with the other. She took the sandals from Aubrey afterward to try those on.

Pulling one from the box, she inspected it, finding that she liked them rather well. After putting the sandal onto her shoeless foot, she lifted her foot, twisting her ankle once more. "Oh, aren't these adorable too?"

She stood, taking a few steps. It wouldn't hurt to get both pairs, after all, her boots were the only footwear she had. Sitting back down with a new sense of happiness, she pulled the sandal back off and put it into the box.

"I might as well get both pairs of shoes." She stood back up once she had put her boot back on, cradling both the boxes carefully. "But no more shoes. Three pairs are certainly enough. Are you still picking out shoes?" She inquired.

Shopping with someone could be fun, amazingly enough to Bambi.

Aubrey beamed. "They absolutely are!" She said, happily. She turned back to the shelf, and spotted a pair of pink slingbacks, that she simply had to have. She quickly tried one on, and amired it. "Do you like those?" She asked, pointing and flexing her foot inside the sandal. "I do." They would look just perfect with that skirt she was getting.

She slipped it back off, and picked up her other sandals, putting back on the pump she was wearing, and walked with Bambi to the checkout counter, she paid for her shoes and waited while Bambi paid, before leading them out of the shoe store.

"There is a skirt that just came out." She explained. "And its simply the most fabulous thing I've ever seen."

Bambi noticed in response to the second pair Aubrey picked out. She bought the shoes and had them placed in a large bag. Feeling pretty good and much more comfortable around the android, she allowed Aubrey to lead her once more.

"Oh?" She questioned as she Aubrey explained to her about the skirt once more.

She tried to imagine how the skirt must look. Aubrey's definition of "fabulous" seemed pretty accurate right now as far as the shoes had gone. She wondered if she would find Aubrey's clothing taste good like the shoes.

As they're walking though, her cell rings. She picks it up, nodding. "I'll be right there." Hanging up, she smiles weakly to Aubrey. "I'm sorry, I just got called to a meeting. Show me the skirt sometime, all right?" She trades numbers with the android before rushing back to the Global Bank building.
