Apolline tried to keep a pleased smile off her face, but was too psyched that Mr.Alexander didn't call her "the other intern", which had pretty much become her first name since entering M TV. The "one who gets the coffee" was a little more specific at least.
"My name's Apolline Auben." she replied to Max with a strong voice, "More important work sounds great! I won't let you down."
It didn't take long for Apolline's attentive ears to catch on other people's conversations, such as Anth and Ariel's who were standing just a few feet behind them. She took out her notepad and began jotting things down dutifully, but the lights soon dimmed and everyone started searching for a hiding space. Apolline put away her notepad after straining her eyes to get the last bit written down in the dark and tagged along with Mr.Alexander to go where ever he hid. It was so funny to think that big serious CEO's threw fun surprise parties with cupcakes and present! She wondered if they would even sing the birthday song. She would have to get that on her audio recorder or cellphone if they did!

Max hid behind a couch with the young intern and the others he was talking to. They whispered for a few moments. "Is she supposed to arrive momentarily?"

Walking out of the teleportation booth in Paris, Arah looked over to Fitzhugh with a big, toothy grin. Rubbing his forehead, Fitzhugh said, "I know you're about to say something strange and possibly even disturbing, will I want to sit down for it?"
Arah was a different demon, he often said obscene things just to annoy others or even get Fitzhugh into fights, assuming he became visible for all to see. Arah was annoying, but Fitzhugh tolerated him because, well, he liked him. Very much of an odd couple, Fitzhugh and Arah were total opposites. With Fitzhugh being calm, serious, and sometimes even humorless and Arah being loud, obnoxious, and even self-destructive in emotions, they worked together great.
"Naw, just messing with you," Arah said as he closed his mouth (while still smiling) and tilted his head.
Groaning a little, Fitshugh said, "Okay, let's just get our butts up to the office. I hear there's a hacker named 'Freak Boy' who I'll want to talk to about getting some records."

"Maybe I could try a colorful scarf." Annette decides. She isn't sure why she would try out a colorful scarf. "Maybe I am getting a little wild in my old age." Annette adds. They head downstairs through the strangely deserted Global Bank office. No one is at the office. It seems everyone has gone home. Annette doesn't even spot a Creditor. She feels uneasy about this, but decides that everyone must be lazy.
They walk past the conference room where Annette's party is supposed to be held. "Hmmm...someone forgot to lock the conference room. Can you close it and lock it for me?" She asks Aubrey.

"That's ..very interesting." I whisper back to John Sweet. "A giant prison...then." I say aloud to confirm it. In this world, most prisons are privately owned. The quality of the prison varies greatly and there is little uniformity in the laws. It seems every company has some prisons of its own if it is large enough. The Manalists also have prisons, but this one...will certainly be huge. "I wonder why The Master is keeping it such a secret.."

Aubrey nods enthusiastically. "A colorful scarf is a wonderful idea!" She presses. It's a start at least, maybe if she can convince Annette to expand her wardrobe a little, and really show her all the wonderful choices out there, perhaps Annette would be open to slight tweaks made to the Creditor's uniforms.
After all, Aubrey shouldn't be the only one looking flawless all the time.
Aubrey turned around, and peeked in the conference room when she was asked to close and lock the door. "Ms. Rosenthal, I think you should come see this..." She called.

Indeed, why? John asked himself. Then it came to him.
"Well, the masses never really liked the idea of prisons and such," John explained. "The Master knows this and will try to keep them at bay and keep them from rioting. The privately-owned prisons have no regulations. This one will. Only the best torture master, interrogators, and so forth will work here."

Linnea had been home for twenty or so minutes before she heard a knock on the door, maybe it was Horacio since she did forget to give him a set of keys. Hurry toward the door she noticed that the silhouette was a different shape. Slowly down she cautiously opened the door slightly. "Hello, can I help you?" she said in a soft, polite voice.

"Hello, Ms.Linnea?" Ophelia inquired. She had a good feeling it was her and continued, "I'm Ophelia. I was meant to deliver you flowers today, from Mr.Keito.."
She frowned, "I was not sure if you were expecting them or not today.. They were kind of lost in a teleport malfunction. But I wanted to at least inform you that he sent them.. He wanted you to give him another chance and.. be his friend again."
Ophelia felt a little awkward. Honestly she wanted to tell her to stay away from such an odd man. She was lovely and obviously timid, even hiding partially behind the door from Ophelia, who was in no way intimidating.
"Please forgive me for the delay. I will get you a new bouquet as soon as possible, I am usually not so clumsy!"

Linnea scowled at the woman standing at her doorstep. "This isn't a very cruel joke your trying to play here. Please leave." Now she was very upset, she hated everything about Keito and here was this woman that she didn't even know and playing a very mean trick.

Ophelia caught the door before she could shut it. Mr.Keito must have really offended this woman seriously. She couldn't even believe he'd sent flowers!
"W-wait! No, I-I'm serious! I would never be so mean!" Ophelia protested, "I swear on my heart. Mr.Keito came into my shop today and bought flowers for you, a dozen red carnations. I came all the way from Rome to deliver them, only to have a stupid teleport nearly blow me into oblivion, get lost in the rain, a mad man pull a gun on me, then visit some stranger's home, then find your home in the middle of the night! I would NEVER go through that much just to play a joke!.. I have much better things to do." She sighed trying to keep her building frustration down, "Believe me or not if you like. I'll be back with flowers, I never fail a customer. Especially one that could put me out of business like Mr.Keito. Have a good evening ma'am."
She pushed away from the door and trotted down the frontsteps, feeling about as low as she'd ever felt the whole chaotic evening. She stopped on the sidewalk, glancing side to side, then looked back at Linnea. "Uh.. You wouldn't happen to know where an affordable teleportbooth is would you?.." she asked vulnerably, feeling stupid really that she even asked someone that was so upset at her, but deciding it was worth a shot. She didn't want to be stuck out in the cold all night.

Linnea blinked once or twice as she stared in disbelief as this woman told her story. "Ah...." she looked back and forth. "There is one across town....why don't you...stay the rest of the night." She felt like she had just lost control of her body and was just talking, maybe it was because of the way she treated the women. "You know because its so late." she smiled sheepishly as she awaited for a reply. "I'm sorry for my reaction."

Ophelia almost couldn't believe the sudden change of heart the woman had and her offer.
"I... uh.." Ophelia mumbled. She hesitated to take the offer at first, worrying about her plants being all alone for even one night without her, and wanting to hurry right back to Rome. But her body protested, absolutely exhausted and tense. Her need for rest got the best of her. "Sure."
She walked back to her ,"It's okay you got upset.. I understand why you wouldn't believe me." She smiled, "All's forgiven. A place to stay sounds nice. I'm exhausted.. Today's been quite chaotic.. As you know.. Sorry for ranting and unloading my day on you. "

"Oh what is it? You don't have the key?" Annette asks with a scowl. She wanders over to the door of the conference room and it is dark. Everything is quiet inside. She can see some strange silloutes inside the room though.
"What did someone redecorate in here? Is this some kind of joke?!" She asks angrily. She decides to get a closer look at the damage.
She turns on the light....

The room was quiet as everyone watched the guest of honor look inside, and the moment she flipped the light on, commotion was in the air as everyone yelled SURPRISE!!
