Here, I plan to post a large Joining Manual to make it easier on new members to create their character.

A: Translation of the Joining Template
Name: The name you go by. This is used in to identify yourself in this game. You should glance through characters who have already joined the game to ensure that your choice name hasn't already been taken.
Your name should also match your ethnicity and such. There are countless random name generators on the internet that can assist you with this.
Age: How old you are. Make sure that your age matches your occupation and profile picture. It would seem sort of odd if you were 80 years old, but looked 25. Oh yes, and ensure that your age is reasonable. If you are a God, it's perfectly likely that your age would easily be over 1000, but if you are a human, try to keep it around a likely number.
Race: The color of your skin. This can be black, brown, or whatever you like.
Fantasy Race The fantasy race you are playing as. This is an optional option to participate in. If you don't want to play as a fantasy race, simply leave this section blank or remove it entirely.
Ethnicity: Not to be confused with race, ethnicity is your cultural background. This can be Italian, German, South African, Navaho, Korean, or whatever best fits your character. Remember not to base your character off common stereotypes of your ethnicity.
Nationality: Seeing how countries and nations are thing of the past in Opiate, this simply mean the former-day country your character was born in.
Economic Class: The economic class your character belongs in. Make sure that your character's economic class matches their occupation. In other words, there are no very wealthy janitors.
Gender Identity: This is fairly simple; either your male, female, or other. If your other, please explain.
Sexuality: Your sexual orientation. You can choose to be heterosexual (attracted to the opposite sex), bisexual (attracted to both sexes), homosexual (attracted to the same sex), or whatever you like. If you don't know the fancy name for the sexuality, simply describe what your attracted to.
Political Belief: The political system you believe to be best. This can be anything you like, just make sure your political system matches the rest of your profile.
Religious Belief: Your religious belief is the belief (or lack of believing) in a higher power. For example, Christians are usually described simply as those who believe Jesus to be the savior.
Organization: The company your character is a part of.
Occupation: What you do for a living. Even though you work for a certain company, you do a certain job for them. For example, my character works for Genetech. He is a geneticist, and nothing else.
Skills: This is simply what your good at. This can be that you can throw a ball well, can write better than others, things like that.
Weaknesses: What you are weak to/are unable to do. This might be a fear of heights or even a level of obesity that disallows you to run comfortably.
Powers Abilities that are different from skills that your character possesses.
Weapon The weapon your character uses. A common weapon on Opiate is the Manala gun.
Appearance: How you look. I find it acceptable to simply post a picture of your character.
Personality: How your character acts usually. Be sure to include what they act like when they get angry, sad, or when experiencing other feelings.
Story: The story of events so far in your character's life. This starts in childhood and continues until the present day.

B: Quick Overview of Types of GovernmentAnarchyBasically, no one rules. It is often a misconception that anarchy means that the area is in chaos and disorder. However, anarchy can also imply that people simply take care of each other, abide by certain unwritten rules, and there is simply no figure of absolute authority to rule over others. DemocracyRule of the people. This can be a Direct Democracy, where the whole population votes directly, or a Representative Democracy, where people elect officials to vote for them on decisions. DespotismA type of government where a single individual rules in the government. DictatorshipVery much like despotism, a dictatorship is a type of government where a single individual holds power over every aspect of the country, and not just the government. MonarchyA monarchy is a type of government where a single individual holds power and passes it down to an “heir.” This heir will often be hereditary, or simply someone that the leader likes. OligarchyA ruling of a select group of people who are related, or have very similar interests and goals in mind. PlutocracyThis is common; a ruling of the wealthy and/or the wealthy have a large amount of influence in government matters. TheocracyThis is the ruling of the Manalists in this RP. A theocracy is a state of government in which a certain religion rules over the population.
