Scrag has white and gray hair which is long and messy. His face is wrinkled and his eyes are small and fierce. His face is round with thin lips and a long noise. He has bushy eye brows. He wears a long cloak which looks like decaying vegetation. He has dead sticks poking out of his shoulders. His skin is very tan.
Personality:
Scrag is no nonsense. He promotes Manalism and punishes Priests who do not follow Father Manala the proper way. He does not go out of his way to be cruel and is not sadistic. He is merely calm, ambitious, cold, and serious. His personality is a little flat. He is nearly impossible to befriend since he has no sense of humor and focuses only on duty.

Scrag was created by Genetech as an artifical plant person. He is a plant person based off of a red leaf tree. In his younger years, he was very attractive with red hair and fair skin. He was one of the most beautiful and well liked Manalists. He was friends with Charon and lovers with Tristan Tuzanic. At a young age, he was nothing more than just an ambitious Priest.
However, an opportunity to become Master arose when the first Master died. There was a competition between the Priests to see who would become the new Master. He took up this challenge, as did his friend Charon. To prove their worth, both set off to visit the Gray Zone and learn its secret. To prove themselves, both men would enter the gray zone and try to survive. Scrag and Charon neared the gray dead void, but Charon backed out at the last moment. Charon left the Manalist church after that and went on to live a humble life as a Professor. Scrag on the other hand entered the void. The void caused him to age. He is now an old man and was weakened by the swirling void of death. However, he survived what no one else had. Because he survived, even at the cost of his youth and beauty, he was given the job as the Master.
He has been the Master since then and lives in Rome, where the Manalist 's Highest Temple is located. He travels to other temples as well to give advice to the followers of Father Manala and to make sure that everything is running properly. He also sometimes attends meetings for the Economic Council. Because he is ugly, he is not very well liked. He is aware of this. Because of this, he often writes speeches and has Li Violette give them on his behalf. He is not a very public figure, although anyone would know who he is if they saw him.
Scrag is a red leaf tree but lost his powers associated with being a red leaf tree when he entered the void. Instead his powers are mostly concerned with death, decay and disease.
Scrag believes in Father Manala. He believes in calm selfishness, reason, ambition, personal responsiblity, and perfectionism. He is hard on others, but also expects the best from himself.
Although he is not attractive and is known to have a swampy odor, he is respected by all Manalists.
