story:
Ai Lan Li was born in Beijing to a working class family. Because they could not afford to keep her and she already had a brother, she was sent to an orphanage. There she stayed for many years. There was a shortage of adopting parents since the world was in economic crisis at the time.
While playing alone at the orphanage, she was approached by a demon which promised that she would get adopted if she serve as its host. She agreed to this and shortly after, she was adopted by a French family. The French family renamed her Violette. When she was older, she named herself Li Violette, taking on her old surname. She attended a nice school in France as well as college. Later she returned to China were she became involved in politics. Because she was a beautiful charismatic person, she quickly became powerful within China. It probably helped that she had supernatural help from a demon. Eventually she became leader of China through some strange events there. This would not last long, however, since uprisings in the countryside threatened her power. She put down the uprisings but was eventually removed from power by her own peers and put under house arrest.
Embittered by her removal from power, she sided with the Manalists and capitalist groups to fight the government which had imprisoned her.
She managed to rally the support of the people against the government and was restored to power. However, because she had allied with the Manalists and companies, she was in a very precarious position. They demanded that China be turned over to the Manalists and various companies. In exchange for this, she would be given the position of Speaker within the Economic Council.
She reluctantly agreed to this since she felt that she had little choice. She had too many enemies in China and could not maintain power if the country was attacked by the Manalists or companies interested in owning parts of China.
Thus she turned China over to the Manalists and other parties. She became Speaker.
Although she doesn't believe in the Manalists or the companies, she gives speeches and does her best to win the support of the people. She is a popular person and a symbol of beauty and strength to the people. To many Manalists and company owners though, she is a threat. She is aware of this, so she does her best to appear harmless and win them over.
Secretly she is building an anti Manalist organization called Red Infinity, which is her own clandestine communist group.
Li is fond of Ariel Tal Shachar, the Moderator and her boss. However, he keeps his distance from her since he knows that she is an ambitious and manipulative woman.
