Weapon A garden hoe? >.>
Appearance: Her skin is a light tan. Her hair is brown and a little hard to control. She's average height and a little on the bony side.
She usually wears jeans, a green or other earth tone shirt, and a brown shawl or poncho. A red apron when she's working.
(here's a sketch of her)
Personality: She has a steadfast and patient attitude. She takes her time to do things right, from making a bouquet to forming a sentence. Some people interpret her steady pace as her just being slow or stupid. But when she finishes a task it turns out as close to perfect as can be. If she is rushed, sometimes the restults can be disasterous.
She is quiet, yet very approachable and mysteriously attracts people to her. She's not exactly affectionate or particularly sweet, but she is clearly a good-natured being. People have an easy time opening up to her.
story:
Ophelia was born into a catholic middle class family in a small town in Spain. She and her family went to what they called 'underground' Catholic masses in their community. Masses held mostly in basements(therefore 'underground') of wealthier members of the congregation. Because it was a small town, the people of their congregation were able to be more open and not so afraid of being persecuted.
Yet eventually their congregation was discovered by people outside the community and 5 members of the church were lynched and other members were turned to the officials.
Ophelia's mother was one of the victims of the lynchings(Ophelia was around 7) and Ophelia, her older brother(Luke), and her father moved away to Rome, Italy before Ophelia's father could be arrested. There, they set up their floral and tea shop as they had in Spain. The family never spoke of any God again and their previously strong family tie loosened. Ophelia was sent off to a boarding school her 6th-11th grade, only visiting her family during break times.
Luke worked at the floral shop part time, but became part of The Enlightened Brotherhood and was hardly ever seen off work or even during his sister's visits.
In Ophelia's 11th grade year she was pulled out of her school unexpectedly. Her father had been arrested for tax evasion and late payments. Officials also discovered even more dirt from their past association with the Catholic church and their run from Spain.
Their father was taken and forced into working in the manala crystal mines and injected with the Anette Rosenthal Disease. Ophelia and Luke took over the shop and continued business.
No more than a year later, more dirt was found on their family with Luke's involvement in the Enlightened Brotherhood and also unexpectedly the Socialist Revolution.
Although Ophelia never had any involvment in the organizations herself, she was tortured until confession that she at least had knowledge of her brother being part of both organizations.
Her brother Luke was executed and Ophelia was released.
Ophelia moved the floral and tea shop to another part of town to escape some stigma and continued to live by herself in the attic of the shop where she still is today.
Her life has taken a change for the better it seems.
She has recently gained some positive recognition for making a few wedding bouquets for a wealthier class citizen, on a last minutes notice, and is starting to get some more customers from the higher class.
