The Gray Zone is a large swath of land in Eastern Russia which is covered by a strange gray vortex of clouds. Everything in this area withers and dies.
It seems that this area is expanding toward Western Russia and Europe. Despite this, the Economic Council has asserted that the gray zone is actually shrinking.
Whatever the case, this strange zone where everything dies is a significant environmental concern.
No one is certain what has caused it or how to stop it. Most people simply avoid travel in Russia. Many people have had to move or have perished.

There is now another gray zone, which appeared in Northern Canada. This one is not as well known as the one in Russia.
