Chapter 20: The Eyes of God

[Bonifaz Artz-Lehrer]

Bonifaz listens to the suggestions, which seem complex and difficult to pull off. Initially, he was looking for something more immediate. "It is possible that we could meet with someone from SOTA or another individual who could help with the plan. I don't know of any contacts within the company and establishing one could be dangerous. But, money speaks for itself, so, maybe the company would be willing to support it....since they are not part of building the monitoring system and they may be looking for contracts."

"I still think that attacking the factories would be better, even if they have various factories involved. It would be a pain and a large inconvienience to have to lose property and personnel over the project."

[Dinari Dollar]

"Hey Calithin, guess where I am right now?" Dinari asks Calithin after he answers the phone. He waits for about a minute, waiting for Calithin to guess. "Guess...guess..." He demands.

When there is no guessing, he decides to tell him.

"I'm in London, with Momo and Max Alexander. We're going to work on the Eyes of God. But that's not why I called..."

Dinari pauses again, and looks around to make sure no one is listening to him.

"I was talking to Momo and she wants to take over SOTA. She already sent robots and things to Helsinki.." Dinari whispers.

[Kith Keitoleinen]

"I am not sure what to do about the search. Maybe you could give the guard something of value or money and they would avoid it. They don't get paid that much." Kith suggests, but that is all he can think of. He isn't even sure why he is helping them, but a part of him feels obligated to undo some of the misery that Keitoleinen creates in the world. They continue walking and near the main office of SOTA as they walk. Kith notices that there are two large robots attacking the office. It is hard not to notice that. To get to the prison, they will have to walk by the office.
"This...isn't good..." He says of the attack. "Maybe it is just a drill or a test of some new machines.."

[Lucio De Saldanha]

As they are talking in the basement, Lucio hears a large crash upstairs. He is confused and worried about their safety, so he goes upstairs to see what it is. He looks out the window and sees a giant machine crashing down the street nearby. It is crushing cars and cracking the pavement as it steps. It looks like a giant robot or something.
Lucio is so afraid that he almost vomits. He becomes pale and his stomach becomes a knot. He calls down to Yasmin.
"Yasmin...there's something out there and I'm afraid.."

[Momo Kurokawa]

Momo sits down at a table in Max's home. She takes numerous calls. Her machines are in Helsinki and more are arriving. Major offices and some labs of SOTA are under attack. The city itself is under attack. Momo gives orders to terrorize Helsinki and SOTA until the company surrenders or Keitoleinen is dead. Momo learns that SOTA has not begun to fight back. She orders that robots be sent to Keitoleinen's mansion to attack him directly.

[Yasmin Seyyedi]

"What a big baby...." Yasmin thought before she look through the window and saw the giant machine. She kinda regonized the machine but doesn't know which company create those type of machine.

"You better not puke on my clothes. Anyway...should we find your friends or what?" She ask in a calm voice.

[Heikki Toivonen]

Heikki starts to come too a little, and listens to the conversations going on around him. He feels a little fuzzy, but other than that, he is okay. His chest has a large wound though from the android's blast.

He sits up on the ground and looks up at Bonifaz, Archer, and Gunther. "Hey guys...I had a nice dream." He tells them with a smile.

"I think everyone has good ideas and I'll go along with whatever.."

"As far as I know, there isn't a well organized feminist movement. I haven't met anyone outside of the party or outside of the socialists and anarchists who calls herself a feminist. So, I don't know if there is anyone out there that we can work with. I think that the issues are the same as always...lower pay, less power in society, doing more housework...and the fact that the Manalist religion is openly sexist, and even hostile to women. I would be willing to try to reach out to women more. Maybe I could have a ...feminist study group or something. We could have more educationals on issues that impact women or feminism." I suggest to the others. I continue talking for a while until we hear a crash. I go to the window and see that there are large, spider looking robots, climbing the side of some buildings and blasting out the windows with lasers.

"Oh no! I think that the Invisible Hand is still after us and this time they sent robots to find us!!" I nearly scream. I don't realize that they are not there for us, but actually for SOTA, but, how would I know?

[††Venice "Cephrien" Ashgrove††]

Cephrien walked through Helsinki and stopped when he heard loud noises coming from down the block. They were tremendous crunching sounds.. as if a giant creature were terrorizing the city. He continued walking in the direction of the noise and curiosity took him over.

His eyes caught sight of two spider-like mechanical creatures, climbing over the side of SOTA. Pieces of glass and concrete fell to the ground infront of him.

Ceph simply stared.

"....."


Wasn't exactly something you see everyday..

[Jumala Keitoleinen]

Keitoleinen was in the entertainment room, watching some porn, when a giant spider like robot crashed through the window. The spider machine was tall, black, and had large, glass red eyes. The creature immediately started shooting a beam of Manala energy at Keitoleinen. Keitoleinen turned off the film and got out of the way as the thing destroyed the couch with its beam.

He knew that this was one of Intelligent Design's machines. Then it clicked. The phone calls earlier weren't pranks. His company really was under attack. It took a while for that to really sink in.

"Why would she attack ME?" Keitoleinen asked himself outloud in disbelief. He created a plague of nake mole rats to distract the machine while he headed downstairs to think of what he was going to do about this...

"So... Intelligent Design has declared war against SOTA?" Darian mused as he went over the mission he had just been given out of the blue. He had been tracking the rebels to Helsinki when he was suddenly given a new mission from someone high up, really high up. They were very precise orders to intercept and take down the mechas; easier said then done. Darian briefly wondered what the point was in sending him, a single man to take on heavily armed mechas. It would have made more sense to simply retrieve Momo for the Economic Council for questioning and punishment, but he didn't question his orders.

No matter how odd, he learned it was not his place to question the motives of his superiors. He was given a mission and would continue his pursuit of the rebels after he was finished. Some would consider him crazy to hope that he could actually single handedly take on fully equipped mechas... but people were quick to underestimate the power of the old and obsolete of a man's skill and determination.

With his Exitus rifle in hand, Darian lined up his shot using the cover of an abandoned apartment building that was going to be demolished later that week. "One shot is all I need..." Darian thought in a cool and confident manner. Using the electronical gadgets installed in his mask, Darian waited for the robotic eyes to locate a vulnerable target. As the metal innards of the mecha were revealed, Darian instantly saw his target and raised his rifle to take the mecha down.

Without any power, the mecha should fall and only cause minimum colateral damage... or it would have a meltdown and explode, causing vastly more damage then he intended, but also hopefully take out another mecha with it. Not thinking about the result, Darian fired a single, deafening bang as the reinforced shell of his Exitus rifle pierced through the armored hulk of the mecha and shattered it's most vital component; the manala crystal.

Darian didn't stick around to long as knowing the reaction time of machines, he only had a mere fraction of a second as he dove out of a side window and grabbed ahold of the fire escape of the adjacent building seconds before a swarm of rockets bombarded the building he had been hiding in moments ago; blasting chunks of concrete and iron every direction. Admist the sound of crumbleling rubble, there was also another loud crash as the mecha he had shot, collapsed into a building and ceased moving.

Not ready to pat himself on the back just yet, Darian dropped from the fire escape and quickly began to reload his rifle. Using the rising smoke from the building as cover, Darian's robotic eyes zoomed in through the smoke and locked onto the next mecha which was busy trying to lock onto him itself. "To slow..." Darian thought as another deafening shot rang off as another bullet pierced the iron behemoth; causing it to suffer the same fate as it's comrade.

Darian was not even close to being done as more and more of the iron titans began arriving, some marching in a specific direction while the others continued their rampage of the city. "I better get paid extra for this..." Darian thought dryly as he slipped through the streets to find another vantage point.

[Ariel Tal Shachar]

About the time that Keitoleinen and others get word that Helsinki is under attack, Ariel is ready to call a meeting. He was not aware of the attack until operatives in Helsinki sent word back to the Economic Council that office buildings of SOTA were being attacked and that mechas and various robots were sent to the city.

Ariel heads to the grand meeting room of the council, where he sends a message to all of the members of the World Economic Council.

SOTA IS UNDER ATTACK BY INTELLIGENT DESIGN IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE A TAKEOVER. ALL MEMBERS OF THE ECONOMIC COUNCIL OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, SHOULD REPORT FOR AN EMERGENCY MEETING TO DISCUSS SETTLING THE DISPUTE.

With the message sent out, he waits for the members to show up to determine what should be done about the situation.

[Jumala Keitoleinen]

Keitoleinen stands outside his mansion and makes a call to his office and the labs. He tells the employees to use their own androids and machines against the attack, which they should have been doing anyway. Sota doesn't have mechas, but they do have some large tanks that use Manala energy. He orders that the Manala tanks should be used against the mechas, and hopefully that will work well enough.

The whole thing puts him into a bad mood, but on the other hand, he finds part of it amusing. Another spideroid appears at his mansion, this time with two android females. The females are wearing school girl uniforms and look like cute, young Japanese women. "Well, she does make nice androids." Keitoleinen admits.

"But, she has no idea who she is dealing with."

He sees the message from the Moderator, and for now, he ignores it. Since he is a god of destruction, he has the power to..well, destroy things...cause plagues, natural disasters, and what not.

In response to Momo's attack, he causes Mt Unzen to erupt in Japan. The violent eruption spews lava and ash upon the city of Shimbara...but what's worse, it causes part of the volcano to slide into the ocean...

Soon, a large tsunami is created by the sudden volcanic landslide....

[Lucio De Saldanha]

Lucio calls one of his comrades to see where they are. The comrade tells him they are now in Helsinki because the meeting in London was interrupted by the appearance of the Invisible Hand and a Manalist. He is told the location of the meeting, then hangs up and turns to Yasmin.


"The meeting is by Helsinki university, but I'm afraid to go out. There's giant machines and things out there!" Lucio whimpers.

[Dinari Dollar]

"Wait...I just got a text message." Dinari says to Calithin. He checks his message and it is a call for an emergency meeting at the Economic Council's HQ. "Man, there is a meeting now. I guess I have to get off the phone and go. Maybe I'll see you there.." Dinari says to Calithin. He hangs up the phone and wanders back over to Max and Momo.

"Momo...you're crazy! But, we ...like...have to go to an economic council meeting...The Moderator called an emergency meeting over what you did Momo. I think we better go...and just teleport there." Dinari suggests.
