Denmark is one of the few places in the world that is controlled by a Monarchy. The "head" of Denmark is Princess Ingrid, although she is more of a puppet figure.
The royal family is certainly wealthy and powerful, but the largest landoowner is an elf businessman named Soren Kiersted who is allies with the Danish royal family. This arrangement was established because Soren wanted to remain more annonymous to the human population. As part of this relationship, the elven business owner was given control of the Frisian Islands, where there is a hidden elf population. The Manalists are not aware of the elven population living on the Frisian Islands, which have their own Monarchy and generally do their best to avoid the Manalists.
The human inhabitants of Denmark assume that the royal family owns the company and are not aware of Soren, the elven owner or the elf population in the Frisians.
For the record, Soren is actually half elf, half human. He is the half brother of Priness Ingrid. His mother was an elven Queen and his father was the former King of Denmark.
The Company is called Royal Dane Organics. The company focuses on "green living" technologies that use both magic and tech. The company hasn't caught on for the most part, since the products often must compete with non-green companies.
Royal Dane Organics has sold some designs and ideas to Genetech however, especially in the field of enhanced foods.
The company focuses on food production, medical technologies, environmental protection.
