Because of the recent murder of a late term abortion doctor in Kansas, I thought I would drag this issue into the discussion.
Firstly, the Manalist religion does not have a stance on abortion as of yet on the rpg. I was thinking they would be pro abortion since the religion would probably see it as population control and life isn't of much value anyway, especially the lives of the weak. However, the Manalists may also be against it because they are oppressive to women. So, how do you think the Manalists would feel about this issue? I was thinking maybe they would even have abortion booths where women can have abortions done by robot doctors.
Then, I guess, how would your character(s) react to that or feel about the abortion issue. How does that relate to how you feel about the issue.
I am pro choice...and I will leave it at that for now...

Manala promotes males over females, the abandonment of the weak, and made it illegal to have sex outside of marriage. Thus, the idea would be that the Manalist faith would be pro-abortion, but the choice would be in the hands of the husband so that if a woman went in for an abortion, she would have to either have her husband with her, have a signed note from him, or have it be supervised by a priest in the case of her being a widow. If there was no husband because of infidelity, the woman would be put to death. If the woman was widowed after becoming pregnant, they might force her to get an abortion, to avoid creating more 'Cursed' poor people. That would make sense for Manala. The Abortion Booths would probably be pretty typical for the faith, so go for it.
Abortion is one of those little tidbits of Manala that would chafe at Lehti's conscience. Being the child that his parents really didn't want, Lehti sympathizes with aborted children, though, like everything else, he attests that the Book is always right.
Myself, I'm very pro-choice. What a woman or couple chooses to do is their business.

i think that makes sense that women should have not be able to get an abortion unless they can get the father to permit it. With the abortion booth method, maybe the women would need their husband or the father to swipe their labor card as proof and the charges for using the booth would be charged directly to the father's bank account (through use of the labor card)
Thanks for your input on the matter.
