I don't really listen to music.
I can sing like the lady from the Cranberries and Bjork though. And I can do the voice of Krang from the Ninja Turtles. I could probably sing as Krang too.

I feel like you don't try very hard to listen to music. Music can be great.
The Cranberries are good but Bjork has no excuse. Her music videos are creative though... I definitely never expected to see lesbian robots make out in a music video. So props on creativity to her.

Ah!
I love that song. "Homewrecker", that is.
"Lithium" is a wonderful song, though I think "Heart-Shaped Box" is my favorite Nirvana song.
I wish my memory wasn't so bad sometimes, though it gives me some good excuses.

I love Hellogoodbye songs in general. I've definitely met them and they are super nice and not as awkward as they seem like they would be... And most if not all of their lyrics make my life.
Notables:
"Wilted; the flowers that I gave. Not as nice as your bouquet. All the lyrics that I wrote not as smart as the words you spoke. Starlight above my home town, ain't as bright as the star I found. Every drawing that I drew was never, ever as cute as you."
"We lock lips and throw the key out."
The chorus in Bonnie Taylor Shakedown
"How can I check lost and found when I'm too busy getting down?"
"You can't be close enough unless I'm feeling your heart beat."
"Little league in '93 taught me how to take defeat."
And SO many others.

A few more I just thought of:
"Keeping from you keeps me from sleep."
"It's like you gloss your lips with glue: we kiss and I am stuck to you."
"Our only connection is synthetically. We show our affection electronically."

Charon-
Yeah, I've heard of Plushgun. I like "Just Impolite" and "Union Pool" but some of their stuff is too slow for me. I tend to like really up tempo music. If you like them and Hellogoodbye though... Have you heard of Rediscover? They're in that genre and their song "Shake It" is FANTASTIC. I recommend myspacing them and listening to it immediately for anyone who hasn't heard it already.
(Also, Hellogoodbye's new CD comes out this summer! I'm so excited.)
Alexei-
I actually kind of like some Bassbunter, not gunna front. But Akon with that voice? And Papa Roach with that yelling and inaudiable bass? You're killing me!

Ah! I very much like Basshunter, and Papa Roach is along my liking. Akon, on the other hand... eeh... I have two of his songs, at least. Not that one though. I often listened to Dota while I gamed. Past-tense because I seem not to find much time to game anymore. Yeees, I have a problem finding motivation for a lot of things sometimes.

I listen to alot of techno as well. "Digital Love" By: Daft Punk is great and they do alot of really interesting collaborations. I think Sandstorm is over played, but I can't help but still like them. It just bothers me that that seems to be the only techno most people have ever heard.
On the mention of Akon I realized that I did, in fact, have "Smack That" on my ipod... Which was then promptly deleted.
Some embarrassing songs I have:
1. Beautiful Soul By: Jesse Mcartney (sp?) 2. A ridiculous amount of Ashlee Simpson 3. A ridiculous about of Shakira 4. Sometimes By: Britney Spears 5. Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and other queens of country 6. N Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, B B Mak, Bewitched, and other such groups 7. Dirty By: Christina Aguilera
But my most embarrassing HAS to be 'My Heart Will Go On' By: Celine Dion.
ALSO, Tuvi-
I'm liking your lists ALOT. Not gunna lie. Usher is also bothering me at the moment... I hate "Love In The Club."
Your # 4 band is genius, obviously, and... Have you heard Panic's new CD? I like old one MUCH better. They're trying very hard to be The Beatles... And failing.

This is going to seem insanely random, but it's just my opinion.
Music is almost one's spirit in the form of energy that can only be sensed by the ears. Whether one releases love, hate, or any other emotion, everyone absorbs the energy in their own unique manner. In addition to being one's soul and energy, I think music is also a way of looking at the world. I also think that the only people that can truly understand music are the ones who acutally play it. (Ex. I am a bassist. It doesn't matter what it's in, I tend to be the only one that can hear it, because I play the bass.)
Really random, but felt I should mention that.lol

Anthony, interesting list, and we can definitely cover music philosophy as well...
I think that there's no way we can know whether language is really the best form of communication. Music is another way to communicate with people, and I think that there's a substantial argument that can be made that it is equal in value to any speech.
As a matter of fact, there is proof that music came before language did, so it may be a form of communication that reaches us on a more primal and therefore more honest level of consciousness.
And, if no one minds a little music theory...
I usually I prefer bass driven, drum heavy up or mixed tempo music with funk guitar and light synth or keyboard.
I play the piano, violin, and guitar, and my favorite key to play in no matter what instrument I'm using is A.
